Training Courses

All courses are carefully tailored to each organisation's needs. They are designed to be effective and relevant, as well as highly participative and enjoyable, and will include a range of learning activities appropriate for all course participants.

The training can be delivered over a half day, one day or over a series of days, depending on your requirements.

Before I deliver training to any organisation, I will work with the client to establish their requirements and desired outcomes, to ensure that the training closely matches their needs and the nature of the workplace.

As I am an independent, freelance trainer I am able to offer very competitive rates. In addition, I take into account the size and funding of your organisation: if you are a small charity with a low budget I can offer my services for a reduced rate.

Helpline Skills Training

Helpline skills training is appropriate not just for those working on 'traditional' helplines, but for any organisation that provide a service by telephone. Courses can be designed for those with little experience, or for more established staff or volunteers who want to refresh or develop their skills.

  • Offering emotional support by telephone
  • Supporting suicidal and distressed callers
  • Effective information-giving and signposting

  • Responding to challenging callers.

I also deliver training courses to organisations that use a range of other channels, including email, SMS and IM.
